Annual Flush                    September 4, 2019
  •      We will be performing our annual flush starting September 10, 2019 and going through October and November for the areas north of the water plant in Hardin and north of Batchtown for rural water users only. This is the process of cleansing the system. Customers could experience some discoloration of the water. However, the water will continue to be safe to drink. Customers should check for discoloration before doing laundry. Despite the inconvenience of the discolored water, it is necessary to perform the flush to remove any sediment that might have settled in the water mains and to insure that the hydrants remain in good working condition. If you have any questions, please contact our office. We do appreciate your patience during this time.

Possible Water Break                    February 6, 2019
  •      We are asking for the public’s help in trying to find a water leak for Calhoun County Rural Water District that we know is south of the water plant on Illinois River Road and south of Batchtown on Mississippi River Road. We know with all of the rain, it may be a little harder to determine whether or not an area could be a leak or not. We would also like to ask if any of you know of any absentee landowners, if you could contact us to let us know their names or perhaps check their water meter to see if you hear water running. The leak started February 2, 2019 in the evening and we believe it is a couple of meters leaking with the recent freezing temperatures we had last week, rather than an actual water main break. However, it could be a water main break, but we haven’t found any specific areas yet that look like it. Please contact us at 618-576-2482 or email at info@calhouncountyruralwater.com with any concerns. We appreciate everyone’s help in trying to assist us and thank you in advance for your efforts.
